Oman's Central Bank foreign assets rise 4.9 percent

The Central Bank of Oman revealed that its foreign assets rose by 4.9 percent to 7.07 billion riyals ($18.4 billion) in December 2024, compared to 6.734 billion riyals ($17.5 billion) in the same month of 2023.

The bank highlighted in its monthly report that conventional bank lending in the Sultanate rose by 4.80 percent in December on an annual basis. While money supply (M2) rose by 8.12 percent in December on an annual basis.

The report showed that the total credit balance granted by Islamic and conventional banks rose by 6.7 percent to reach 32.5 billion Omani riyals ($84.58 billion) by the end of 2024.
